Props & Preperation
Main props: A pretty and pretty delicious banana, and some fake roses.
The bananas purchased by Danny are top-notch in terms of color, taste, and smell, and even taste like pineapple. The fake rose he purchased had no plastic thorns on its roots. In our first plan, we were supposed to hold the rose as a prop and hide it behind us. However, during the filming, I noticed some inconvenience, which gave rise to a more interesting idea.
DEVELOPMENT OF THESE ROSES
Here comes the rose blooming in the buttocks. Although I don't know how I came up with this idea at the time, the result is that it is quite in line with our theme and theme, and very suitable for my role as a humorous eccentric boy who claims to be a bad boy.
I also added a scratching gesture, partly to show how uncomfortable it is to have this prop stuck in my buttocks, and partly to showcase the character's personality: carefree and shameless.
TRIES AND SOME CHARACTER DEVELOP
As shown in the figure, we originally planned to have a large group performance, just like when we did a preliminary task, to achieve a response through the exclamation of multiple people and the preliminary task, while also deepening the contrast. Although we troubled these classmates, the first time we filmed them was really good.
However, we still deleted this scene, which was mostly due to our own reasons. We did not fully plan our script and storyline, which resulted in a very chaotic shooting process. We were unable to find the same venue for shooting in the future, and the lighting was also different, so we had to regretfully abandon this scene.
DEVELOPMENT OF LEGSTRONG
It is obvious that the name legstrong comes from Armstrong, and from this name, we can see the funny nature of the character. Moreover, our original plan was to find a real girl as the character for filming, but we felt that there was something missing. So when we were discussing this role for the second time, we decided to make Danny sacrifice and wear a black and straight wig as a literary woman.
However, it was another adventure. While searching for a wig, we found a bright orange Spicy Girl wig provided by an art teacher. We hit it off and decided to use this wig with red lips as our legstrong.
ABSTRACT PSYCHOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT
Banana Man is the biggest confusing character in our movie. Some people believe that he has no meaning, or cannot find meaning in it, or simply appears as a seasoning in scenes with too many flavors. But in fact, my original intention in creating this character was only to serve as a background board, and he was chasing after an eggplant person behind him, which was completely unreasonable and ridiculous. But as we delve deeper, I want to represent the bad boy's inner self as the Banana Man, which is completely different from the surface crazy and cool. Banana Man is simple and ignorant, and somewhat foolish.
This is also when Danny and I have some ambiguity in our thoughts, and he always follows my ideas (I really appreciate him). For example, I always like to add some deep analysis and understanding to some exaggerated and humorous scenes on the surface. In many people's eyes, this is excessive interpretation, but in reality, I have conceived the direction of the entire movie, and the protagonist is not only the bad boy, but also the banana man.
THE VERY FIRST TRY
As one of the most essential shots of the entire film opening, the appearance of the bad boy is very crazy. Chewing a banana with an exaggerated expression, shaking his head and shaking off his hat, paired with a scruffy outfit, drooping backpack, reflective sunglasses, and slow motion and explosive background music, it can instantly bring a huge visual impact to the audience.
Before this idea, we had originally decided to shoot in the art corridor, with the surrounding students as our natural background, and to shape this character with a slight brain problem in front of these people, so that we could naturally capture the reactions of others. Unfortunately, at this time, the art corridor was undergoing an exam, and we were forced to switch floors.
